1 Intended use
GlobalGuard is software to manage devices of the Home Alarm System. You can configure the system settings, add devices and
set up home automation keys with the GlobalGuard PC setup software. You can access the Home Alarm System with the online
software and smartphone app.

3 Overview

The home automation keys (I/II/III) correspond to the home automation buttons (I/II/III) on the control panel.
3.1.1 SYNC
To copy the settings from the software to the control
panel.

Caution:
Sync the system if any modifications are made in the setup
software. Make sure that you sync before you close the
software to execute the changes.

3.1.2 EVENT LOG
The event log is a record of all activities executed by the control panel.

TIME Date and time of the event
LOCATION Location of the event
DEVICE/USER/ACTION Device, user or action that
triggered the event
NAME Name of the user who triggered
the event
MESSAGE Content of the event
3.1.3 ADD DEVICE
To add or replace a device.

To change the settings.

3.1.4.1 PROGRAMMES
A programme is a set of action(s) that are activated immediately when called upon by the user. Programmes can be assigned to
the home automation buttons (I/II/III) on the control panel, so that they are activated when the user presses the buttons on the
control panel, the keys on the home page of the PC setup software or in the online remote access software or smartphone app.

To add and maintain up to 16 programmes.

Note: The “PROGRAMMES” button becomes grey when
you have reached the maximum number of programmes.

Item Description
NAME Name of the programme.
NUMBER Number of the programme.
ICON Icon of the programme. The icon can be changed.
SOUND Sound of the programme. Select “None” or chime sound.
PROGRAMME Status of the programme:
Select “ENABLE” to activate the programme.
Select “DISABLE” to deactivate the programme.
Step 1
(Security mode)
NO SETTING Use the current arming mode for the control panel without making changes.
FULLY ARM Set the arming mode to “FULLY ARM”.
PART-ARM-I Set the arming mode to “PART-ARM-I”.
PART-ARM-II Set the arming mode to “PART-ARM-II”.
DISARM Set the arming mode to “DISARM”.
HOLIDAY ARM Set the arming mode to “HOLIDAY ARM”.
Step 2
(Action)
NO ACTION Take no action when you switch on or off.
ALL ON Switch on all on/off receiver devices that have “ALL ON” checked.
ALL OFF Switch off all on/off receiver devices.
INDIVIDUAL Switch on/off particular receiver devices.
WHERE USED Show where the selected programme is used (e.g. in a schedule).

3.1.4.2 EVENT
An event is a set of multiple actions that take place when the system is triggered by a detector. For example, an event can be
created to automatically switch on the porch lamp (connected to an on/off device) when the door/window contact detector
detects the front door opening. Unlike programmes, events are activated by detectors rather than activated upon request by
the user.
An event can also be set to be triggered by a change in the security settings. For example, setting the control panel to an arming
mode remotely through the website can switch on the light to warn off intruders.

To add and maintain up to 32 events.

Item Description
NAME Name of the event.
NUMBER Number of the event.
EVENT Status of the event:
Select “ENABLE” to activate the event.
Select “DISABLE” to deactivate the event.
Step 1: Set the trigger type to activate the event:
SET TRIGGER
 DEVICE TRIGGER: Select a detector device added to the system and specify the type of action
that will trigger it.
 SYSTEM TRIGGER: Set the security mode. (optional)
 ADVANCE SETTINGS: Set the time at which the event will function. (optional)
Step 2: Set the action to be taken when the trigger has been initiated:

 CONTROL DEVICE: Select a control device to control devices (max. 16).
 PROGRAMMES: Select a program to activate.
Step 3: Set the delay time before Action2 is activated.

3.1.4.3 SCHEDULE

A schedule is a set of multiple actions activated when the preset time is reached. For example, you can create a schedule to
switch a table lamp connected to an on/off device on at 6 p.m. and off at 11 p.m. on a daily basis or on particular days.

To add and maintain up to 32 schedules.

Item Description
NAME Name of the schedule.
NUMBER Number of the schedule.
SCHEDULE Status of the schedule:
Select “ENABLE” to activate the schedule.
Select “DISABLE” to deactivate the schedule.
Step 1:  SET ACTION TIME: Set the start time before Action1 is activated.
SET START TIME  ADVANCE SETTINGS: Set the security mode.
Step 2: Set the action to be taken when the trigger has been initiated:

3.1.4.4 DEVICE

To view and maintain a device.

3.1.4.5 SYSTEM

To set users, sirens, time and date, control panel and
Spectra lighting receiver.

Note:
 The PIN code for Admin cannot be left blank.
 You cannot use the same PIN code for two users.
 The PIN code must be 4 digits.
 The user who does not have a remote control or a PIN
code is shown as “DISABLE”.
 The duress code activates an email alert to a contact
when the control panel is disarmed in the property via
the keypad on the control panel.
 Refer to the online hardware manual for additional
details on the settings of the control panel, the solar

siren and the Spectra lighting receiver.
 When you set the system for the first time, you can
quickly set the time and date by clicking “NOW”.

Note:
“VIDEO” in “NEW EVENTS” indicates if the optional CCTV
camera has recorded a video file associated with that

event.
3.2.1 HOME PAGE
The home page shows:
- the security status of the control panel
- the user who are logged in
- the event log of all security actions
The icon indicates whether the video camera has recorded video associated with the event.
3.2.2 SECURITY
The page is used to activate security functions (Fully Arm, Holiday Arm, Partial-Arm I/II or Disarm). You will get the 4 digit
admin/user PIN code to enable any of the security settings.
3.2.3 HOME AUTOMATION
The page shows all home automation programmes stored in the control panel. The page is also used to activate a programme.

RUN OTHER SCENES To show and control other programmes stored in the control panel.
VIEW ACTIVITY LOG To show an event log of the programmes activated by the user.
3.2.4 VIDEO PLAYBACK
The page is used to play video files recorded by the optional GlobalGuard CCTV camera.
Click the button to refresh the file list.

3.2.5 CAMERA VIEW
The page is used to view real time video recorded by the optional GlobalGuard CCTV camera.
3.2.6 SETTINGS
To set the settings.

Camera Settings To add and edit 8 cameras for the optional GlobalGuard CCTV camera.
Contact Settings To add and edit 5 e-mail addresses for system alerts.
Account Settings To set the account settings. Only the administrator can change the “Admin ID”,
password and e-mail addresses. Passwords must have 8 characters.
3.3 GlobalGuard app
The GlobalGuard app is available for iOS and Android. You can use the app to:
 view the security status and control security
 view event logs
 activate programmes
 view CCTV cameras
 play back recorded video files associated with event logs only
 take a photograph (snapshot) and save it onto the mobile device
Note:
 Do not use the mobile device to access the online GlobalGuard software. You can only access the online GlobalGuard
web software with a Windows PC and Internet Explorer due to ActiveX control.
 Up to 6 online users and admin users can log in to the system simultaneously using the app.
 The app will not show all video files for playback from any optional CCTV camera. The app will only show video files
associated with any trigger events. The video files will appear as [PLAY] next to the events in the event log. If more
than one camera is connected to your system, the app will only play back video from one of the cameras.
 The apps are subject to updates at any time without notice.
3.4 GlobalGuard Camplay software
The GlobalGuard Camplay software is used to play back video files transferred from the Micro SD card of your CCTV camera to
your PC. The software can also convert a video file to AVI format, so that it can be played back from most types of media
players. Make sure that you copy the complete folder with contents of the Micro SD card to your PC.
