Kudostostudents,facultyandstaffforanothermemorableyear! 2011ASCEMetropolitanConference
NotonlyhasourBSinelectricalengineeringprogrambeenreac-
FDU’sAmericanSocietyofCivilEngineers(ASCE)StudentChapter
creditedbytheEAC-ABETuntil2017,butouroutcomeassess-
hostedtheASCE2011MetropolitanRegionalConferenceatthe
mentisconsideredbythevisitingteamasthebesttheyhave

Ouracademicprogramsareenjoyingsignificantgrowth,andour
outreachprogramshaveattractedmanyhighlymotivatedminority
andfinanciallydisadvantagedstudents.Withgenerousgrantsfrom
corporatedonorsandsupportfromtheUniversity,wehavecon-
tinuedtoupgradeourlabs,includingthepurchaseofa3-D
printerforprototyping.
Thesesuccessesresultedfromourprograms’emphasisonpracti-
calapplicationsandourstrongcommitmenttoaclosestudent-
facultyrelationship.Aboveall,ourstudents,facultyandstaffdo
indeedtryandworkhardertoachievetheirgoals.Inthisdireeco-
nomicenvironment,wefeelfortunateandgratefulforourac-
complishmentsandarehopefulforbetterthingstocome.

tion,thestudentswererequiredtodesignaconcretemixture,
fabricateamoldandbuildacanoeoutofconcrete.Onthedayof
thecompetition,allthecanoesunderwentseveraltestsandthe
schoolsthatpassedgottheopportunitytoracetheircanoes.
