the material into a computer database. The information v.ill be made available to a seltct group
of qualified re:.carchers.
We're pleased to report that the recipient of this year's Isabel Davis A\\urd, a, selected by our
supporters. is Raymood Fo11-ler, inve,tigator and author of six booLs on the UFO subject Mr.
Fowler will receive an award 1n the amount of S 1.000. The Isabel L. Davi' Memonal Av.ard
was established in 1986 "to recognize long-term accomplishments and excellence in promoting
rauonal inqull)' into reponed UFO sighungs and related phenomena."
The Fund's major public education project during this period was coordination of a seminar,
"My\teries of the Slcy," at a communny college in the Washingto.n, D.C. . area. Members o~ the
Fund's Executive Committee and other rc\Carchc:rs combmed thetr talents to make prcsentauons
on several significant aspects of the UFO phenomenon A videotape of the proceedings is now

Dunng this period, the Fund received requests for grants totalling more than S58,000, .,.,hich
far exceeds the amount we have in uncommitted funds. While many of the proposals are
worthwhile, they ~;annot be considered unless we have a fund which can be held in reserve
for serious scientific research into the UFO phenomenon. Therefore, we are establishtng a
Long-Term Fund to ~upport future projects.
