Preface
ThisvolumecomprisessignificantcybersecurityresearchpapersfromthefifthInterna-
tionalConferenceonFrontiersinCyberSecurity(FCS2022).Theeventwasorganized
bytheDepartmentofComputerScience,KwameNkrumahUniversityofScienceand
Technology(KNUST),incollaborationwiththeCenterforCyberSecurity,University
of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Huaiyin Institute of Technology
(HYIT). FCS 2022 offered researchers with different directions in cyber security the
avenue to contribute to science and exchange ideas. This proceedings provides valu-
ableinformationoncutting-edgeresearchandcurrenttopicsinspecificfieldsofcyber
security.
Cybersecurityisaninterdisciplinaryfieldgainingincreasinginterestfromacademic
and professional researchers worldwide. Recent cyber-attack behaviors expose every-
dayuserstorisks,includingprivacyleakage,propertyloss,etc.Thereis,therefore,the
surging need to prevent various forms of cyber-attacks. This volume contains reason-
abledevelopmentsandcontributionstowardscreatingacyber-safeworldfrommultiple
researcherswithinthecybersecurityparadigm.Specifically,afterusingthelatestdevel-
opmenttrendsandinnovativetechnology,researchersandpractitionershaveproposed
anddiscussedtheirresearchachievementsinareassuchasnetworksecurity,systemsecu-
rity,cryptography,trustmanagement,privacyprotection,informationhiding,computer
forensics,blockchaintechnology,AIsecurity,contentsecurity,andtheirapplications.
FCS2022wasthefiftheventoftheFrontiersinCyberSecurity(FCS)series.FCS
keepspacewithinternationalsecurityinnovationconceptsandhasprovidedtheoretical
and technical support for international cyberspace development since its inception in
2018.Hundredsofresearchershavesharedandexplainedtheirfindingsinaformaland
tosomeextentinformalsetting.ParticipantshaveexchangedideasattheFCSconference,
promotingcybersecuritydevelopmentoverthepastfiveyears.
In 2022, FCS received 65 paper submissions and finally accepted 26 papers. This
doesnotincludeanyshortarticles.Onaverage,eachreviewerwasassignedfourpapers
and each paper received three reviews . The peer review process was double-blind to
promotetransparencyandfairness.Theconferencegainedsignificantattentionworld-
wide,withparticipantscomingfromdifferentcountries,suchasGhana,Kenya,Rwanda,
Namibia,China,Japan,Australia,etc.Theformatforparticipationwasdesignedtobe
hybrid,allowingsomeparticipantswithCOVID-19restrictionstocomplywithrelevant
epidemicpreventionregulationsbyparticipatingonline.
ThisFCS2022volumeisprimarilyorganizedaccordingtothethematicdirections
of all the accepted papers. Specifically, the seven topics of FCS 2022, classified by
reviewers,asfollows:InternetofThings(IoT)Security,ArtificialIntelligenceandCyber
Security, Blockchain Technology and Applications, Cryptography, Database Security,
NetworkSecurity,andQuantumCryptography.
