PREFACE
Fluidics technology originated in the late nineteen-fifties
and developments in this new field have expanded considerably
in the last five or six years. This new technology parallels
electronics in several ways - most noticeably, perhaps, in
control systems - hence the inclusion of this new title in the
Pergamon Electronics Data Series.
Fluidic logic and control elements and systems can per
form, reliably, many complex tasks, particularly where equip
ment has to operate under extreme conditions of temperature,
humidity, vibration or shock.
This volume presents information on a wide range of
fluidic components, systems, techniques and equipment currently
available mainly from sources in Britain and America. The
Editors hope that it will be found useful by all engineers active
in - or interested in acquiring data on - the techniques and
equipment used in fluidics.
