How to Use the FACTS ON FILE Yearbook
For over four decades, FACTS ON FILE news reference service
has summarized, recorded and indexed the news each week. It
provides a factual, detailed and up-to-date source for those who
must have swift answers to questions on current events.
The reference service consists of a weekly digest of national and
foreign news events averaging 20 pages and a twice-monthly
cumulative index that gives quick reference on the information
recorded. The news digest also covers deaths, science, sports, medi-
cine, education, religion, crime, books, plays, films and persons
prominent in the news.
The Facts ON FILE Yearbook consists of 52 weekly news
digests, an annual index, which is printed on yellow paper at the
back of the volume, and a color world atlas.
To locate any news item recorded in the Yearbook, the
researcher need only check the index for the subject of the story or
for the name of the person, organization or country involved in it.
Instructions for use of the index can be found on the first two
pages of the yellow section.
