EDITOR’S NOTE
Celebrating our
First anniversary!
IT’s been a year now since the first issue of Urban Vaastu was published by us. And
what wonderful years they have been, as it provided ample opportunities for my
team and me to interact with some of the most renowned individuals.
While many were leading politicians – including ministers – top businessmen and celebrities, we
have also had intense discussions with renowned personalities from the architecture segment, top
developers and even from social movements.
Urban Vaastu, as many of our dear readers will agree, provides a perfect blend of tradition and
modernity in every issue that we publish. We bring to our readers stories about our ancient
traditions – our rivers, cities, civilisations, temples and places of worship – and also take up the
various challenges relating to contemporary life.
We also carry features that reflect the building of a modern India by several prominent – and even
necessarily not-so-well-known – personalities.
The last one year has been extremely enriching. Of course, we have had our struggles and challenges,
but the support of a great team and illustrious advisories from our dear friends have ensured that
we have grown rapidly and are marching towards meeting our goals.
It has always been a dream for me personally to work for a magazine like Urban Vaastu. And my
numerous interactions with the personalities we feature in our cover stories and other pages have
indeed been enthralling and inspiring.
They have also been one of the most humbling experiences for me and I realised that it is factors
including clarity of thought, coupled with acumen, vision and execution, that have made these
people the best team leaders.
Our cover story this time focuses on the development issues as well as the ongoing projects that are
taking place in East Africa. Known for developments, let’s have a look on how we can make it more
advanced in terms of road transportation.
Urban Vaastu is that perfect blend of tradition and modernity. In every issue we seek to bring to our
readers stories about our ancient traditions and the challenges of our present lifestyles.
To make this dialogue between the tradition and modern more interesting and fun we now have two
lively gentlemen - Urban and Vaastu - who we are sure will make your magazine more colourful and
interesting.
On behalf of my entire team at Urban Vaastu, I would like to thank all our readers and contributors
for their support and guidance. I would also like to thank our team for having the conviction and
belief in Urban Vaastu and standing by us through all times.
Wishing all our readers a very Happy and Prosperous Diwali!
