The Forgetful Man

Past Perfect

‘An old man had a lot of maney. He did not know where to keep

it. There were no banks in those days. He hit upon an idea, One

day ho dug up @ hole in the floor of his bedroom and put away ail
his money in that hole. He filed up the hole with such ski that i
hecame a part of the floor again. Nobody could tell where the
hole was . After this the old man complotely forgot where he had
tiddon his money and where he had dug up the hole in the Noor.
He hed forgotten all about it. Quite often afler this he needed the
‘money but he didn't know where to fnd it. He had not told any of
his retatves or friends about the hole. They, therefore, could not
come to his help.
One right & thief came to hie bedroom. The oli man was very

Holy Prophet

CHAPTER-4

‘Tolerance means to beer pain or hardships with patience. It also

‘means to bear things you do not like. For exampla when you are
very angry and want fo hit someone, but da not do so, you ars
«displaying tolerance. The greatest tolerance was practised by our
Holy Prophet (S.4.W).

‘We follow the teachings of our Holy Prophet (S.A.W),We leam
{rom his life how much tolerance he (SAW) practised. The Holy
Prophet (S.AW) showed reat tolerance all through his life. He
(S.A.Wynever gavo trouble to enyone. He {S.A.W) even prayed
for his enemies and for those who troubled him. Our Holy
Prophet (S.AW) was a model of tolerance. Ha (SAW) never
wished ill of any one
Prophet (S.A.W) never took revenge upon any one, Abu Sufyan

Hazrat Ayesha (R.A) said that the Holy

‘was the worst enemy of Islam before he became @ Muslim. At
the conquest of Makkah the Holy Prophet (S.AW) not only
forgave him but also honoured him by declaring "amnesty" for
those who took refuge in his house,

The people of Makkah boycotted the Holy Prophet (SAW)

asked the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) on thls occasion of tal,

The Holy Prophet (S.A.WW) replied,*O, Gracious end Merciful

‘God, show them the right path, for they do not know what they
are doing. They do not recognize ma. Thay do net know Iam
Muhammad (S.A.W) the Prophet of God. Make I known to them
that | am thelr greet well-wisher. ”

His enemies had a lot of wealth and weapons. When they fought
‘with the Holy Prophet (S,A.1), they were larger in number.

‘The Holy Prophet (SAW) had only a few soldiers and a small
‘quallly of weapons, but he (8.A.\W) showed great courage and
patience, because he (8.A.W) had his trust in God. At one time
fhe (SAW) was let all stone in the battle field, but evan then he
(SAW) showed courage and patience. He (S.A.W) said,”

“Vamd the true Prophet of God". God gave hirn victory.

Inhis last adsress, the Holy Prophet (S.AW) said,” Revenge for

bloodshed, (as was the custom in the days of ignorance before
Islam) is forbidden. | forgive those who murdered my cousin,
Ibne Rabian". Hazrat Ans Bin Malik (RA) said,” 1 served: the
Prophet (S.A.W) of God for 19 years. By God, he (S.A.W) never
objected to anything | sald or did. Wo, as Muslims should follow
