Over the past decade doing field research on traumatized children I
have seen the need for an alternative approach to promoting healing,
resilience and recovery in both adults and children. While exploring my
own roots in South East Asia, I met a remarkable traditional Qigong
healer, Master Yap of Penang Island. Thus began my exposure to CFQ
(Cosmic Freedom or Chaoyi Fanhuan Qigong), an energy healing
method that is proving effective in trauma cleansing, health promotion,
and providing cures for otherwise insoluble health problems, and even for
terminally ill patients. Since then I have presented workshops and
seminars on CFQ as an innovative therapeutic tool for training health
professionals in self-healing and healing others. It is evident that CFQ
training has produced hope and health benefits for those who have
embraced it. To read this book is to understand how to realize one’s
capacity for an inherent gift of healing. Healing itself is simple, but
genuine recovery requires more than treating the person as body parts or
as mere physical matter. Healing is complete as the body becomes
relaxed free from its energy burden, with the mind’s conflicts replaced by
peace and together with an energy flow that produces a harmonious
consciousness.
CFQ is a meridian based system (of energy channels in the body as
postulated in TCM or traditional oriental medicine) and utilizes wisdom
inherent in energy-consciousness psychology. Therapeutic benefits have
been observed by participants in healing workshops within reasonably
short periods of practicing CFQ. Essentially, practitioners learn how to
switch off stress responses, release energy blockages and unburden
themselves of mental and emotional reactions that traumatize mind and
body. For those who persevere in CFQ practice, homeostasis and
equilibrium of energy flow are restored, eliminating disease symptoms
and achieving complete healing. The purpose of this book is to share
with interested readers how they can activate their inner resilience to
overcome life’s problems and actualize their own full potential.
Energy Medicine in CFQ Healing: Healing Body, Tansforming
Consciousness focused on spiritual healing powers as revealed by an
experiential study of Eastern medicine, traditional Qigong healing and
Buddhist meditation practices. This work contains insights of the
founder of CFQ (the primary author), integrated with a current
understanding of Western psychological and medical science (the co-
author).
The book is a personal narrative by Master Yap Soon Yeong of the
CFQ energy healing system from conception to its present level of
development. This system makes a breakthrough in the field of
alternative medicine by focusing on Qi (energy) healing. This book
explains how it works with a clarity and simplicity staying clear of the
mystery and complexity that shrouds the ancient Eastern energy healing.
It seizes upon the principles of energy healing that were once guarded
in secrecy by the masters and their trusted successors. It attempts to
clarify myths and common beliefs, as well as correct misconceptions. It
throws fresh light on the energetic origins of disease and provides
guidance for overcoming them, even those given up by conventional
medicine. Master Yap presents his teachings on healing in a direct style
to cultivate CFQ as a safe and effective technique for self care, health
maintenance and disease prevention. He details how CFQ treatment
protocols can be applied in self healing and healing others. For people
with chronic illness this book offers a way to eliminate their suffering.
For those in despair, it offers hope and a way to resolve their problems.
Holistic CFQ healing leads to a transformation of the body and a
freeing of the spirit involving all levels of being a human. These levels
are bioenergetically connected by consciousness which flows from the
five senses, the mind (or brain) and the spirit. Such energy forces are
acquired, formed, absorbed and stored within, compiling our life
experiences and actions. Among these forces is a primordial energy
reflex, much like the stress response, which draws in and traps energy
forces that traumatize the body and mind. Disease problems and
undesirable events are the consequences of past experiences stored as
energy forces (which we call memories). These can burden our entire
being. The solution lies in fundamentally “ letting-go,” or “ undoing”
such burdens. By such “ undoing,” the burdens are shed along with
conflicts and disharmonies. The mind-body is purified and the impurities
are replaced by a peace consciousness, which is our greatest healing
resource.
Part One of Energy Medicine in CFQ Healing begins with the
childhood influences and the early life of Master Yap, which drew him to
the calling of a professional healer. His experiences as a traditional healer
and a series of unique meditative revelations inspired him to create an
amazing approach to healing.
Part Two connects the reader with the roots of Chao-yi Fan-huan
Qigong (CFQ), which lie in the traditions of Eastern medicine and
Buddhist teachings and meditation. These wisdom theories and
principles have provided a conceptual framework for powerful methods of
healing. Next, the CFQ training instructions in healing protocols are
clinically detailed with a view to enabling the readers to develop healing
skills and to experience for themselves how subtle energy affects the
physical body, brain and mind. CFQ procedures are radiant
energyconsciousness methods of healing as seen by our contemporary
understanding of the psychology of the mind-body unit. These methods
are practical, easy to follow. Noticeable results may occur in a matter of

Part Three and Part Four of the book describe the healing applications-
how readers can be their own healer and, in addition, radiate cosmic
healing for the benefit of others. The problems explored include past
trauma, stress disorders, injuries, auto-immune diseases, chronic
infections and illnesses. The chapters span childhood, agingrelated and
life-threatening diseases. CFQ healing affects the physical body and is
meant not only for persons who are suffering from disease but also for
their spouses, parents, children, friends, relatives and caregivers. Rather
than ineffectual worrying, helpless inaction, and overdependence on
experts, this book shows how to contribute directly to healing
themselves and healing others. The body’s self-repair ability is restored
and utilized. Resilience is activated to enable complete recovery and in
achieving a true sense of well-being free from the burden of disease.
The final message relates to the spiritual approach to realize the
consciousness-energy connection with nature and enabling harmony with
it. It is a way to claim humankind’s birth right to live peaceful,
propitious and long lives. Going beyond, it illuminates a journey of self
discovery to reveal a full intimacy with the cosmic self.
