Welcome!
It is my pleasure, on behalf of the LINAC 16 Organizing Committee, Scientific Program
Committee, and Local Organizing Committee, to welcome each of you to the XXVIII
International Linear Accelerator Conference (LINAC 16) at Kellogg Hotel & Conference
Center in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. The venue is located on the campus of
Michigan State University (MSU), and the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) is
within its walking distance. The MSU campus is famous for its beautiful campus
gardening, and the LINAC 16 will thus provide LINAC experts with a unique forum to
interact technically and culturally in America’s Midwest university atmosphere.
We are expecting nearly 400 delegates from 18 countries, well balanced among Asia,
Europe, and North America, indicating that the LINAC community is healthy and vital
around the world. We thank the many registrants, exhibitors, and sponsors for their
support of the LINAC 16. In particular, LINAC 14 generously allowed us to support a
significant number of students, who will soon be major players in the LINAC community,
being stimulated by this exciting forum.
In closing, I would like to thank the LINAC 16 Organizing Committee, Scientific Program
Committee, and Local Organizing Committee for making this conference a success. We
gratefully acknowledge support from the FRIB Laboratory and MSU.
We are very pleased to have all of you join us here on the MSU campus and wish you
to fully enjoy the LINAC 16 and your stay here.
