L'acció de la història té lloc al poble de Favara (Ribera Baixa) i l'argument se centra en la presentació de dues querelles de caràcter sexual que són portades davant l'alcalde. D'una banda hi ha la querella d'un matrimoni, el Tio Collons i la Tia Tomasa, desavingut a causa que el Tio Collons sodomitza la seua muller. D'altra banda, hi ha la querella d'en Pasqualo (fill de Collons i Tomasa) i na Vicenteta, qui exigeix a en Pasqualo que es case amb ella, ja que, segons Vicenteta, en Pasqualo l'ha desponcellada. En Pasqualo argumenta davant del jutge i dels seus pares que na Vicenteta l'ha seduït i que ella no era verge. [El 2009, coincidint amb el 200 aniversari del naixement de l'escriptor suecà Josep Bernat i Baldoví (Sueca, 19 de març de 1809 - València, 31 de desembre de 1864), el suecà Joanjo Aguar transcrigué digitalment l'obra més famosa d'aquest autor, El Virgo de Visanteta a partir del facsímil de la primera edició, de 1845. Cal tenir present que, en ser una transcripció fidel, la llengua no està normativitzada. Diuen que el millor homenatge que se li pot retre a un escriptor és llegir i difondre la seua obra, i donat que Joanjo Aguar l'ha posada a disposició de tots, ací vos l'oferim.]
