1. SVU DST-PURSE ESTABLISHEMENT:
Sri Venkateswara University has been ranked 22nd in the Country based on the
research publications and h-index (30-39) as indicator through SCOPUS data base for 1998-
2008 duration, in Biological and Physical sciences, in this connection the Department of
Science &Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi has sanctioned “Promotion of
University Research and Scientific Excellence(PURSE)” programme under C- category
with an incentive grant of Rs.9 crores to promote research and development in the
university in the 1st Phase. The DST-PURSE project was sanctioned to S.V. University on 18th
November, 2010(sanction letter- DO.No. SR/S9/Z/-23/2010/21, dated ,16-03-2011). The Project
Implementation Group (PIG) consisting of 9 members from different discipline of the subject are
appointed by the Vice- Chancellor under DST-PURSE Programme.

advanced research for faculty and researchers and also the Networking and Computational facility
has developed to facilitate the ongoing research activities. The minor equipment are facilitated to
support the research work for the research fellows who are coming from the outside the
universities/institutes.

The Major Equipment are being utilized by the faculty/research scientists /scholars not only
by SVUniversity, Tirupati but also other local universities/colleges within the state and also being
used by outside the state universities/institutes/college for their research activities and same are
acknowledged in their research publications. The following User Charges are being collected to
