As the "Diversity Campus," Livingston College has a long and all-
encompassing history as well as present. The college has always
strived to bring together diverse groups in an attempt to make the
student's four or five years at the college that much more engaging
and educational. Open mindedness and challenging the social
stereotypes has always been what the college is about. Livingston
students can be proud of the role that they have played in the rich
and varied tapestry of the campus.

One would think that starting the school year was the hard part
but, once here, students quickly learn that the truly hard part isjust
starting out the day! With so many pulling responsibilities and
committments, the average student is exhausted before the semester
is half over. Still, not all of it is due to classes and study! The late
night parties and chit-chats with roommates also makes it a challenge
to wake up for that first period class on Douglass!

Okay, so you didn't really want to take "Basket Weaving in 6th
Century Nigeria" first period on Cook Campus. Still that is
ultimately half of the fun: At Rutgers you often don't know what
classes you're going to end up with. Still, college is an educational
experience and part of that comes from being exposed to new ideas
and subjects that you might not have known that you were interested
in. Also, who knows when the history of Nigerian basket weaving
might come in handy!
