Abstract. COVID-19 poses a serious danger to the global education system
becauseofitsrapidproliferation.Theshutdownofinstitutionsin111countriesby
July2020willimpactmorethan1.07billionstudents.Forconventionalbrick-and-
mortarschoolsanduniversitiestosatisfythedemandsoftheirstudents,full-time
online institutions are becoming increasingly vital. Due to the shift in learning
methods,itisessentialforstudentstobecomeadeptatusingvideoconferencing,
socialmedia,onlinediscussionforums,andmoreastheytransitionfromface-to-
facetototallyonlinelearning.ComparativeresearchwascarriedoutinNovember
2021attwoprivateinstitutionsinLebanon.Studentsintheirfirstandsecondyear
ofbusinessschoolwerethefocusofthestudy.Sincetheirfirstandsecondyearsof
college,thesestudentshavebeenexposedtoadigitallearningteachingstrategy,
buttheyarenotyetcomfortablewiththeformat.Thispaper’ssampleconsistsof
280universitystudentsintheirfirst,second,andthirdyearsofbusinessschool.
Pre-COVID,orface-to-face(F2F)learning,andPost-COVID,ordigitalteaching
andlearning,arebeingcontrastedinordertobetterunderstandthechallengesthat
students experience while engaging in online education (DL). Descriptive data
gathered through Google Forms and evaluated using SPSS will be used in the
research.Overall,theaverageDLscorewas33.3,substantiallylowerthantheFF
group’sscore(41.4.0,p0.001).Inaddition,theDLgroupscoredworsethanthe
controlgrouponmeasuresofinvolvement,communication,preparedness,critical
thinking,andgroupabilities.Theimpactofvarioustutorialsandinstructorswas
assessedusingasubgroupanalysis.
