Dedication
This book is dedicated to the memory of Mark Harris. Mark was a contributor to this
Dictionary and was Director of Quality for the Parole Board for England and Wales
at the time of his untimely death. He had formerly been a Cropwood Fellow at the
University of Cambridge Institute of Criminology and was Head of Quality and
Standards with Victim Support, as well as being an Assistant Chief Probation Officer
in the London Probation Service. Mark will be greatly missed by his many friends
and colleagues in the criminal and civil justice systems.
