About the Editors
Linda A. Dimeff, PhD, is Chief Scientific Officer for Behavioral Tech Research, Inc., an
organization devoted to the dissemination of evidence-based practices. She is also on the
clinical faculty in the Department of Psychology at the University of Washington. Dr.
Dimeff received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Washington,
where she specialized in prevention and treatment of addictive behaviors and in dialecti-
cal behavior therapy (DBT). She collaborated with Marsha Linehan in the development
ofanadaptationofDBTforsubstance-dependentindividualswithborderlinepersonality
disorder, and is currently coauthoring a book with Dr. Linehan that describes this treat-
ment. Dr. Dimeff currently has eight dissemination research grants through the National
Institutes of Health. Over the years, she has written numerous theoretical and empirical
papers in the areas of addictive behaviors, DBT, and dissemination. Dr. Dimeff’s experi-
ence includes providing extensive training, supervision, and consultation to treatment
providers affiliated with large public-sector systems in their implementation of DBT, as
well as to individuals in private practice.
KellyKoerner,PhD,isaclinicalpsychologistandclinician,clinicalsupervisor,andtrainer
inDBT.SheisCreativeDirectoroftheEvidence-BasedPracticeInstitute,whichprovides
onlinecommunitiesandcontinuingeducationforpractitionerswhostrivetocombinesci-
ence and compassion in their work. Dr. Koerner has served as Director of Training for
Marsha Linehan’s research investigating the efficacy of DBT for suicidal and drug-
abusingindividualswithborderlinepersonalitydisorder;CreativeDirectorforBehavior-
alTechResearch,Inc.,whereshedevelopede-learningandothertechnology-basedmeth-
ods to disseminate evidence-based practices; and cofounder and first CEO of Behavioral
Tech, LLC, a company that provides training in DBT. She is on the clinical faculty in the
Department of Psychology at the University of Washington and maintains a consulting
and psychotherapy practice in Seattle.
