The genus Ctenognophos 'Prout has hither tbeccn represented in Ncpal by the following
seven species: C. cuprearia (Moere) .C. r,eiot.i7Jus Inoue. C. eolaria (Guen6e) and C, ohtec-
taria (Walker )(Sat o,1994, 1998 .2000) ,C, methoria Prout (Inoue .1982), (J .paertita
(Butlcr a)nd C..fascohrtmnea Sato (Sato ,2003), In this paper, another new specics will be
describe dfrom Central Nepal. and (r .cupiz)arict will be transt'erre dto Hitrvs aMoore on the
basi sof the genital isctructures. All the speciLnens of the new species were taken in the
high mountains of Centra lNepal by Dr Hideo Nakajima and were donated te Natural

NIASE), Tsukuba. Japan .The detaile adccounts of Nakajima's survey in Ncpa] were given
by Naka.jim"a `1(919929"5), Though his survcy was made in 1993. the collecting data were
recorded as by mistake (Nakajin ]pear.s .con'vn.).

to eolaria, but differi nasg follows .Gnathos slightly longe rthan uncus, while much longer
in eotaria, Left valva with a mass of long spines as in eolaria. but much fewer in numbcr.
The male genital iofa eolaria werc shown by Sato (200 32:44, fig .28).

Geographica lrange, Centra lNepal. Probably habitat osf this spe¢ies are confined to high
altitude above 2,OOO m.
Etymology. The specific name is after Dr Hideo Nakajima, who captured all the type speci-
mens during his survey in Nepal.
Dr Stttni nagnd Mr Sommerer informed me that there were no specimens of nakcijimai in
Zoologisches Forschungsinsti tuuntd Muscum Alexander Koenig (Bonn) ,and in
Zoologische Staatssammulun g(.Munich )re,spectively.

This species was placed in Ctenognophos by me (Sato 1.994). because the genitali aof both
sexes are similar to thosc of C imaginata Prout ,1931, Novit. .,,ool, 36: 166. Latcr imagina-
ta was moved to Hitusa fo11owin gfurthe erxamination ef the genitaii a(Sat o19,95). This
species should have been transferred to Hitias afrom Ctenognophos together with imaginata
at the same time. The moths and the s,enital ioaf both species were shown as follows .H.
ct{prearia: male and female moths (pl 7.6: 8, 9, 12) ,male genital i(afi g4,30) and female
genital i(afi g4,31) as Ctenognophos by Sato (1994) .H. imaginata :male moth <pl .131: 7)
and male genitali a(fi g8.56) by Sato ( 1 995).
