<p>In 401 v.Chr. gaan tienduizend Griekse soldaten op expeditie om de machtige Perzische koning af te zetten. Hij werd als schrijver opgevoed aan het hof van de Perzische koning, maar ziet zichzelf als profeet. De Verlosser zal een Griek zijn, zo weet hij, en daarom klampt hij zich vast aan Xenofon.
