Introduction
The Data Tables Supplement For the 1993 National Transit Database Section 15 Report Year
provides additional information that assists in documenting the 1993 Report Year for the
National Transit Database. The information contained in this publication was formally part of
the Appendices to the Annual Report.
The Data Tables Supplement publication is complied from information received during the
processing and validation of reports. The Supplement reflects a number of circumstances that
occurred during the report year andprovides anaccurate accounting ofthe reporters and the data
received and the impact the data has on reporting modifications. Collectively, the Supplement
provides complimentary and supportive information for the Data Tables publication and
documentation ofthe 1993 National Transit Database. The Supplement is broken out into four
sections.
Section 1 Transit Agency Identification
(Listed Alphabetically by State and Transit ID Number)
Section 2 1990 U. S. Urbanized Area (UZAs) Transit Agencies
(Listed Numerically by UZA Code and Transit ID Number)
Section 3 1990 U. S. Urbanized Areas (UZAs) Codes, Populations, Square
Miles and Densities
(Listed Alphabetically by State and UZA Name)
Section 4 1993 Report Year Exception Listings
Each section is unique and provides detailed information to the user regarding the 523 transit
agencies included in the 1993 National Transit Database, the urbanized areas that report transit
service, and the reporting exceptions for the 1993 Report Year created by a number of factors
such as reporting rule changes.
Section 1 provides additional information regarding modes operated by a reporter and identifies
a point of contact for additional information.
Section 2 lists the urbanized area served in numerical order from the largest to the smallest. It
also lists the reporters who provide transit service within each urbanized area by size of fleet.
In larger urbanized areas, there is more thanone reporter, while in smaller urbanized areas there
generally tends to be only one reporter. Transit agencies that reported but were not included
in the database; received a reporting exemption; received a reporting waiver; or failed to report,
are included in the assigned urbanized area with a notation.

Section 3 provides data with regards to population, square miles, and densities by urbanized
area. Data is arrayed alphabetically by State and alphabetically by urbanized area within the
State.
Section 4 consists of the reporting exceptions denoted during the report year. It is organized
into 22 tables that provide information on reporting status (Tables 1 through 14), Urbanized
Area Formula exceptions (Tables 15 through 20), Urbanized Area data (Table 21), and
Questionable Data, Discrepancies and Declaration Issues (Table 22).
