Più che noir è cool, e anche un po’ bastardo. E non è un caso che l’autore sia un musicista: jazz, per l’appunto. Formidabile nell’intro, calibrato nel ritmo, preciso come un metronomo: i due protagonisti si incontrano alla metà esatta del racconto e da quel momento è un crescendo rossiniano che non abbandona mai il tema. Da leggere in compagnia di Miles Davis o Chet Baker centellinando le pagine in attesa del bis (magari corredato da qualche tavola di Muñoz e Sampayo).Visto che Jack Gold sembra un clone di Alack Sinner, ci starebbero benissimo.
