How to use your dictionary
How to use your dictionary
A dictionary is a book of words In each letter, the words are listed in
alphabetical order. For example:
Everyone who has helped to make this book

You can use a dictionary to see:
• how words are spelt
• what words mean
• how words are used
Some letters in the spelling of a word are

alphabetical order. This is the alphabet:
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
Words that begin with A come before those
beginning with B. Words that begin with B
come before those beginning with C, and so
on.
