Preface
TheInternationalWorkshoponCommunicationTechnologiesforVehiclesprovidesan
international forum on the latest technologies and research in the field of In-Vehicle,
Vehicle-to-Vehicle, and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure communications. This workshop is
organizedannuallytopresentoriginalresearchresultsinareasrelatedtophysicallayer,
communicationprotocolsandstandards,mobilityandtrafficmodels,experimentaland
fieldoperationaltesting,andperformanceanalysis.
First launched by Tsutomu Tsuboi, Alexey Vinel, and Fei Liu in Saint Peters-
burg,Russia (2009),CommunicationTechnologiesforVehiclesworkshopswere then
held in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK (2010), Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany (2011), Vil-
nius,Lithuania(2012),Lille,France(2013),Offenburg,Germany(2014-Spring),Saint
Petersburg,Russia(2014-Fall).
These proceedingsgatherthe papers presentedat the 8th edition of the workshop
(Nets4Cars-Nets4Trains-Nets4Aircarft2015) which took place in Sousse, Tunisia on
May2015.ThiseventwashostedbyHANALaboratory,UniversityofManouba,Tunisia
andcoorganizedwithENISO,UniversityofSousse,TunisiaandIFSTTAR,France.
This 8th edition had dedicatedtracks for Road-, Rail-, and Air-based approaches.
Thecallforpapersresultedin27submissions.EachofthemwasassignedtotheTech-
nicalProgramCommitteemembersand20submissionswereacceptedforpublication
(10fortheroadtrack,6fortherailtrack,and4fortheairtrack).Eachacceptedpaper
got at least two independentreviews. The order of the papers in these proceedingsis
alignedwiththeworkshopprogram.
Weextendasincere“thankyou”toalltheauthorswhosubmittedtheresultsoftheir
recent work, to our TechnicalProgram Committee, as well as the thoughtfulexternal
reviewers.
