Модель 1900 так же называли пистолетом Кольта-Браунинга. После множества самых разных испытаний и усовершенствований конструктор создал пистолет Model 1905, использующий новый пистолетный патрон .45 ACP, а с модели 1909 в конструкции пистолета имелась уже только одна серьга. Однако пистолеты моделей 1900, 1902, 1905 и 1909 не были приняты на вооружение и продавались на гражданском рынке оружия. Подлинным же успехом Браунинга стал пистолет M1911, в котором он устранил все выявленные недостатки предыдущих моделей и объединил все свои лучшие конструкторские решения.Конструкция M1911 стала классической и копировалась на протяжении всего 20-го века с теми или иными усовершенствованиями, продолжая использоваться в большинстве современных пистолетов.
