PCHS Student of the Week
Alicia Wasson is this week’s PTO Student of the
Week at Powell County High School. She is the
daughter of Rickey and Sarah Wasson of Stanton.
Alicia, a senior, is president of Future Business
Leaders of America, treasurer of the Key Club, and
team captain for Relay for Life. She enjoys work-
ing in the business department, and likes having
the opportunity to leave school every day in order
to attend college classes. Her favorite class at high
school is Financial Services with Alicia Frazier, and
she was nominated for PTO Student of the Week
by all of her teachers in the business department
– Shana Bailey, Crystal Workman, and Ms. Frazier.
Playing and singing bluegrass music is something
for which Alicia is well-known, both at high school
and in the community. In addition, she is quite the
entrepreneur, working as a Mary Kay beauty consul-
tant, as well as forming two businesses – Stuck on U
Vinyl Design and Memory Video Creations.
Next year, Alicia plans to attend Morehead State
University and major in Business Marketing and
Business Management. Her long term goal is to
move to Nashville and work in the music industry.
Student of the Week is a program sponsored by the
PTO and recognizes students who are role models
in the areas of study, effort, cooperation, and atti-
tude. Other nominees this week include Cati Hurst,
