January-June 2012

This CGIAR Research Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry report covers the period January-June 2012. It reports
on progress against Output Targets contained in the Program's Operational Plan (2012-2015) available from
www.cifor.org/crp6/research-portfolio. Due to the offset funding cycle, pre–2012 activities funded under the Program
are also included in this report. The report provides an overview of progress towards stated deliverables, the majority of
which are either already completed, or on track for completion in 2012. According to the information contained in this
report, very few deliverables will not be met in 2012. The five research components and the three cross-cutting themes
have reported on progress independently, and reporting styles and the level of information provided varies significantly
between them. This will be addressed in future progress reports.

Component 6.1: Smallholder production systems and markets

Theme 6.1.1. Enhancing productivity and sustainability of smallholder forestry and agroforestry practices, including
food security and nutritional benefits, through better management of production systems
