PREFACE

The following agreement is to run from June 29, 2010 through December 31,
2018. However, certain items are subject to negotiations in the interim.
ARTICLE I – UNION RECOGNITION AND SUBJECTS OF BARGAINING

Section 1 – Union Recognition

1. The Anderson Board of School Trustees recognizes the Anderson
Federation of Teachers, Local 519, AFT, (hereinafter referred to as the
Union) as the sole and exclusive bargaining representative of all members
of the bargaining unit.

2. The members of the unit shall include all certificated personnel working
for the Anderson Community School Corporation except the following
positions:

Superintendent
Assistant Superintendent
Business Manager/Chief Financial Officer
Principals
Assistant Principals
Director of Human Resources
Director of Special Education
High School Athletic Director(s)
Director of Curriculum, Staff Development, Assessment and
Accountability
Chief Operations Officer
Director of Student Services, Programs, and Grants

3. All members of the bargaining unit employed subsequent to the January 1,
1991 and who are employed on a contract which is less than full time shall
receive on a pro rated basis, the same benefits as full time employees. If
such an employee elects to participate in the Corporation’s group health
and/or dental insurance plan(s) then the employee shall pay premium cost
beyond the Board’s pro rated contribution.

Section 2 – Subjects of Bargaining

1. The Board of School Trustees of the Anderson Community School
Corporation will professionally negotiate with the Union with regards to
employment, salary schedules, grievance procedures, working conditions
and administrative policies.

2. It is understood that by adopting the foregoing, it is neither implicit nor to
be inferred that the Board surrenders its authority in the control and
direction with respect to employment, salary schedules, grievance
procedures, working conditions and administrative policies, beyond those
policies and procedures now existing and heretofore recognized by the
Board.
