The U.S. Army Public Health Center,
located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, is
investigatingtheeffectivenessoftheArmy’s
current measures to manage mosquito
populations.
The Entomological Sciences Division’s
Pesticide Use and Resistance Monitoring
Branch, led by Maj. Jareè Johnson, is
developing a new program to monitor
mosquito resistance to pesticides at Army
installations.
According to Sgt. Stephanie Ragin, a
memberoftheseven-personteamtaskedto

“They’reeverywhere,”shesaid.“There’s

is a hit in Maryland
Recreational team keeps century-old rules in play at the ballpark

but back in 1864, the game was played

Baseball was played quite differently
morethanacenturyago,comparedtothe

today.Thelackofglovesisjustoneofthe

game—knownas‘baseball’backthen—

While baseball games were still nine
inningslongandinningsstillhadthreeouts
each,someofthedifferencesintherules

SEAP students finish a successful summer at MRICD

and conveyed how excited he was upon
learning that the Institute participated in
SEAP. Descarreaux explained that from
