Transiently transfected neonatal rat cardiomyocytes assemble normal sarcomeres. Primary
cultures of neonatal rat cardiomyocytes were transfected with expression plasmids harboring
human beta myosin heavy chain cDNA. 1\vo days after transfection the cells were fixed and
immunostained using an epitope specific antibody recognizing the human protein. The fluoro
chrome conjugated to the secondary antibody was visualized via epifluorescene and confocal
microscopy.
