ofHull(1989–1990)afterwhichhewasappointedThornEMILecturerinChemistryin1990–2000.He
becametheDERAlecturerin2004–2008.HeleftHulltojointheDepartmentofChemicalEngineering
attheUniversityofSheffieldasseniorlecturerin2000andwasawardedPersonalChairin2007.
