Die nordlich von Berlin gelegenen sowjetischen Kasernen existierten tatsachlich. Bis heute konnen ihre Uberreste in der Nahe von Vogelsang und Gross Dolln gefunden werden. Auf dem Gelande finden sich Hallen fur die Fahrzeuge der Raketen und die zum Abriss freigegebenen Unterkunfte der Offiziere und Soldaten. Es war die Zeit, in der sowjetische OTR-22 Raketen vom Boden der DDR London oder Paris in wenigen Minuten erreichen konnten und es junge Soldaten gab, die bereit waren, Europa in ein atomares Armageddon zu sturzen.
