Publishers Note:
Being one who has been concerned with our energy
problem for some time, I’m very enthusiastic about the poten-
tial of this book. Contained within these covers is the foun-
dation for a totally energy independent America. Although
several years of painstaking research and development went
into this book by the author, Michael H. Brown, I feel it is
only the tip of the iceberg for alcohol, not only for motor
fuel but for other fuel requirements such as home heating.
Alcohol is a replenishable energy source, made from
nearly all organically grown crops. The grain used for making
alcohol is a better livestock feed after alcohol is distilled from
it than it was before. It, also, burns clean and helps insure an
ecologically safe enviornment.
After initially reading Brown’s manuscript my curiosity
was aroused as to the capabilities of alcohol as a motor fuel.
Although enthused, I was still apprehensive to a large degree.
Upon arriving home that evening, I went directly to my
old faithful, gasoline powered, lawnmower and proceeded to
empty the fuel tank and carburetor of gasoline. The only
alcohol available was a bottle of 70% isopropyl (rubbing)
alcohol from the medicine cabinet. After emptying the
contents into the fuel tank I adjusted the carburetor accord-
ing to Brown’s directions. Five pulls on the rope and it was
running. After a bit more fine tuning of the carburetor, I
mowed my lawn. IT WORKS! Son-Of-A-Gun.
