dedicatedto the memoryofReverend Amos M. Kiser, Sr.
MEMORIAM
IN
Amos M. Kiser, Sr. was a native ofGaston County who touched many lives dur-
ing his eighty-eight years. He was a graduate of Tryon High School in 1927 and
wentontograduate fromFurmanUniversityandSouthern BaptistTheological Semi-
nary. He and his wife, Vera Inez Stroupe Kiser, had three children and were blessed
with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Hewasordained in 1938 and servedatWaco, Union,BigSprings, PleasantGrove
andNew Prospect until 1953 when he accepted acall to Fork Baptist in Mocksville.
He also served at First Baptist in Oakboro for eleven years until his retirement in
1972.
He later served as interim pastor for several years in both Gaston and Cleveland
County. Duringhisyears ofministry,healso taughtbothelementaryandhighschool
in the public school system.
He was called to his reward on October 1, 1995.

dedicated to the memory ofReverend Rufus James Sanders, Jr.
MEMORIAM
IN
Rufus James Sanders, Jr. was a native ofClevelandCounty. Heand his wife Ruth
McDaniel Sanders had two children, Nathan Sanders and Sharon S. Poole, both of
Wilmington, N.C., and were blessed with three grandchildren.
He served inthe United States Navy from 1945-1949 and studiedfor fouryears at
ClearCreekMountainPreachersBible School in Pineville,Kentucky. Whilein school
he pastored a mission in Newton, Kentucky and was in charge offour others under
the direction ofFirst Baptist Church ofPineville, Kentucky.
HewasordainedbyDavidBaptistChurchinourassociationandcalledbyBethany
Baptist Church as pastor in 1964. He served there for twenty-nine years until his
retirement due to poor health.
He was called to his reward on February 16, 1996. ^
