The essence of ‘castaway bliss’, this Four Seasons Resort
occupies the entire 44-acres of Landaa Giraavaru in
the remote Baa Atoll, an UNESCO World Biosphere
FOUR SEASONS RESORT MALDIVES AT LANDAA GIRAAVARU
Reserve. Dolphins and turtles frequent the pristine
two-kilometre lagoon fringed by powder-white
beaches and a kaleidoscopic house reef. Amidst all
this natural beauty is a five-star resort that is both
sophisticated and decidedly sensitive to its surroundings
- for example, somehow the resident manta expert
knows exactly when the manta rays are due for a feeding
frenzy, whilst the Marine Discovery Centre doesn’t just
educate its visitors but actually transplants coral back
into the reef and rehabilitates injured turtles.
Yet it’s not only Jacques Cousteau types who’ll feel
welcome here. There’s dedicated clubs for children
and young adults, as well as leisure options everyone
can enjoy such as tennis, water sports, dolphin-watching
cruises, scuba-diving and four swimming pools. And
there’s no better place for learning about the ancient
Indian philosophy of Ayurveda than here. The 2.5-acre
Spa & Ayurvedic Retreat offers ‘immersions’ that
