Preface
Gastrointestinal imaging encompasses the study of gastrointestinal tract, solid abdominal viscera, peritoneal
cavity and abdominal wall. This book is not aimed at supplanting the current excellent textbooks in
gastrointestinal imaging, rather, it is designed as a quick reference for the practicing radiologist and resident
who is faced with the daily challenge of interpreting gastrointestinal images.
The book is divided into two sections and has an unusually large number of images. Section One covers
the entire gastrointestinal tract and abdominal cavity. Section Two deals with the common pathological entities
encountered in the liver, gall bladder, biliary tree, spleen and pancreas. The radiological features have formed
the major emphasis of discussion for each disorder with augmentation by excellent images.
This book intends to help you in gaining expertise in interpreting gastrointestinal images, so that you might
better evaluate, understand and treat your patients.
