Zur Jahreswende 3819/20 beginnt sich die Machtkonstellation in der Galaxis Manam-Turu drastisch zu verändern. Atlans Hauptgegner, der Erleuchtete, der vor Jahresfrist Alkordoom verließ, um hier, an seinem Ursprungsort, sein Kunstgeschöpf EVOLO zu vollenden, ist nicht mehr. Vergalo – so lautet der ursprüngliche Name des Erleuchteten – hielt sich in seiner Hybris für unschlagbar, und diese Einstellung führte letztlich dazu, daß EVOLO seinen Schöpfer vernichtete. Auch wenn Atlans größter Gegner nicht mehr existiert, die Lage in Manam-Turu ist deswegen noch lange nicht bereinigt. EVOLO ist nun bereits stärker, als der Erleuchtete es jemals war. Und das mächtige Psi-Geschöpf macht alle Anstalten, in die Fußstapfen seines Schöpfers zu treten. Welche Gefahr für Manam-Turu EVOLO darstellt, hat bereits sein Wirken auf der Welt der Kaytaber gezeigt. Und dieser Trend wird noch verdeutlicht durch die Tatsache, daß EVOLO selbst auf Aklard unbemerkt unheilvolle Manipulationen vornehmen konnte. Im Zuge seiner künftigen Maßnahmen gegen EVOLO und das Neue Konzil sieht Atlan es für notwendig an, erneut den Planeten Cirgro anzufliegen. Sein Raumschiff, die STERNSCHNUPPE, warnt, denn dort erwartet das totale Psi-Chaos die Besucher – und DIE HERRSCHAFT DER KRELQUOTTEN ...
