My parents were surprised at how little instruction it took for me to catch on to
ketosis. I had never been on a diet before. I got excited about the keto diet when
I read the science and logic behind ketosis contained in this book. Its benefits
made perfect sense to me. My parents saw how I was able to follow the diet and
achieve results with foods we already had at home. As I continued this diet, my
parents became interested as I told them about the mental and physical benefits,
and all of the diseases that can be prevented by following simple ketosis rules. I
think that this simplicity in healthy eating is something that we all need,
especially in the seemingly senseless, health food frenzied world.

This is not the kind of book I would have read on my own. As a retired
literature teacher and debate coach, I have spent my life reading mostly fiction
and dramas and current events. As a diabetic, I probably should have read books
like this, but I didn’t because I lacked the interest and understanding.
I found the segments on Grandma Rose to be the most interesting. I empathize
with Grandma Rose as she braved through strict food restrictions and fasting.
Each segment where she sustained the restrictions amazed me. Grandma Rose
actually thrived! Dr Bosworth called her Mary Poppins, I kept thinking she’s
more like Wonder Woman! Those sections about Grandma Rose kept me
wanting to read more because I wanted to know how she responded to the
treatment she was receiving. The Lessons from Dr. Bosworth and diagrams
helped me understand both the basics and inner workings of the keto diet.
Grandma Rose gives me hope.
