Thisvolumeisoneofaseriesrevealingthedarkactionsandinactionsoftheself-
proclaimed ‘One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church’, otherwise known as the
CatholicChurch,theRomanCatholicChurch,ortheChurchofRome.1
InthewordsofJean-BaptistedelaSalle:‘Thechurchisthesocietyofthefaithful
collected into one and the same body ...’2 It is described in Catholic Encyclopedia
(‘TheChurch’)as‘asocietyformedoflivingmen…[it]willpersisttotheendoftime,
but further, that it will preserve unimpaired its essential characteristics.’Hence, it is
crucialtorecognisethattheinstitutionalCatholicChurchcomprisesboththehierarchy
and the laity. Its dark unimpaired ‘essential characteristics’ are exposed throughout
thesevolumes.
CatholicSlaughtersandHolocausts
The term genocide is applied in this book in a broad sense to encompass: mass
conversions under duress; the severe aftermaths of discriminatory laws; mass expul-
sionsandtheirconsequences;andmassmurders.
Thephrase‘theHolocaust’,alsoknownas‘theShoah’(Hebrew:�����,HaShoah,
‘thecatastrophe’),generallyrefersto‘thegreatestcrimeregisteredinhistory’inwhich
approximately 6,000,000 Jews were killed by Hitler’s Nazi regime and its collabor-
ators.
Inthisbook,thewordHolocaustisalsoappliedtocertainothergenocidesofJews
of an extreme nature. Over the centuries, there has been a multitude of genocides
perpetrated by Catholics against the Jews. Specifically, however, the term Holocaust
hasbeenassignedhereto:
the consequences of the Major Crusades to the Holy Land (the Crusades
Holocaust)
thepogromsatthetimeoftheBlackDeath(theBlackDeathHolocaust);
theSpanishHolocaustfollowingthe1492AlhambraDecreeofexpulsionofthe
Jews;
the Lithuanian, Croatian and Slovakian Holocausts of World War II, which
weredistinctinseveralwaysfromtheNaziHolocaust.3
