Buying at Kingham & Orme Auctioneers Ltd:
There are several ways you can bid at our auctions; in person, by leaving a commission bid, on the telephone and
live via the internet (the-saleroom.com).
Bidding in Person
It is essential that all prospective buyers register with us prior to the auction. Proof of identification will be required in
order for a bidding number to be allocated which can then be used when bidding for an item.
Commission Bids
Kingham & Orme will execute bids if you are unable to attend the sale. Bids can be left with our staff after/ during
viewing, or in advance by telephone or e-mail: [email protected].
Telephone Bids
Lines should be booked 48 hours before the Auction. Lines are booked on a first come first served basis. Full name,
address and telephone numbers will be required together with proof of identity. Bank and or credit/ debit card details
are necessary to secure the line.
Live Internet Bidding
Register online a minimum of 24 hours before the Auction at the-saleroom.com If your bid is successful we will notify
you after the sale for payment. A charge of 3% of the hammer price plus VAT is made for internet bidding in addition
to all other charges.
Condition
Bidders must satisfy themselves as to the condition of each lot. Condition reports are available on request (no later
than 48 hours before the sale).
Buyer’s Premium
There is a buyer’s premium of 20% plus VAT on the hammer price of each lot.
Artist’s Resale Right – A lot with a † symbol indicates that the item will incur a royalty charge (if sold for a hammer
price of more than the UK sterling equivalent of €1000).
Payment
Must be made in full before items can be removed from the premises. If buyers are unknown to us, we cannot hand
over purchases unless payment is cleared.
Payment Methods – We accept payment by:
Cash – up to £9000 (subject to money laundering regulations).
Cheques – following 5 working days clearance.
Debit/Credit cards – a 3% charge for credit cards is levied. (American Express and Diners Club are not accepted).
