History of IIAR
Ammonia Refrigeration has been around since the 1830’s
IIAR Began with 20 Engineers, Contractors, and manufacturers Fighting
Controversial NEC Code
National Electric Code (NEC) – all electrical components in ammonia
refrigeration systems to be Class I, Group D, Division II.
IIAR was incorporated on January 22, 1971
Now over 2500 Members Strong and Growing
Advocating for ammonia and other
natural refrigerants for over 46 years
