EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY
As the lead implementing agency of the provisions of the Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive
Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, PDEA continuously demonstrates its credibility and competence in the
anti-illegal drug campaign.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, PDEA was relentless in implementing anti-illegal drug strategies, mainly
the Barangay Drug Clearing Program, in alignment with the government’s aspirations of making the Philippines
drug-cleared and drug-resistant.
With PDEA’s dedication to serving the nation, the Agency, in collaboration with partner agencies, gained series of
milestones in the campaign.
Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) Supply Reduction
• 3,151 barangays declared as drug-cleared and • 35,612 anti-illegal operations conducted by PDEA
and other law enforcement agencies;
1,160 barangays confirmed as drug-free;

THE PHILIPPINE DRUG
ENFORCEMENT AGENCY (PDEA)
PDEA was created on June 7, 2002 pursuant to Section 82 of the Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive
Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, to serve as the implementing arm of the Dangerous Drugs Board and to be
responsible for the efficient and effective law enforcement of all the provisions on any dangerous drug and/
or controlled precursor and essential chemical as provided in the Act.
