Alberta Economic Development and Tourism is pleased to release this study titled: "Alternative
and Minimum Impact Technologies For Remote Tourism Developments" .
Much of Alberta's tourism both depends upon, and affects the quality of the natural environment.
Developing tourism facilities in remote or unserviced locations presents a challenge, but is not
insurmountable. Alberta Economic Development and Tourism, as well as the tourism industry
and the public, are interested in environmentally sensitive developments. This study is intended
to identify a range of feasible alternative and minimum impact technologies and management
systems, which would be useful for consideration both by established facilities and new
developments.
Alberta Economic Development and Tourism has for some time been compiling information on
environmentally sensitive technologies and management systems. We would welcome receiving
information from any suppliers or associations who wish to be added to our lists. In addition,
we welcome enquiries from those wishing to make use of available materials on this topic.
