Dear UAPB Students:
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Golden Lion country at the University of Arkansas at
Pine Bluff (UAPB). A new academic year brings an abundance of excitement, anticipation, opportunity,
and promise. Perhaps you are a new student just beginning your educational journey at UAPB or maybe
you are a returning student ready to take the next step in your experience. Whatever your circumstance,
we are pleased and honored that you have chosen to become a part of the pride. In addition to a
commitment to excellence, diversity, and integrity, UAPB offers a supportive, welcoming atmosphere in
an intimate setting, right in the heart of the community.

The Roar: Student Handbook will familiarize new students, and remind returning students, about many
aspects of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. It has been developed as a source of information
about the university and to aid you in making the best possible decisions based on accurate and timely
information as it serves as your official guide. Within this manual, you will find descriptions of the
services and activities available to students, as well as our policies and guidelines governing academic life
and our Student Code of Conduct. You are expected to become familiar with the policies and procedures
in this handbook so that you may have a productive matriculation at UAPB.

As a student of this institution, you will discover many opportunities for your personal growth,
intellectual enrichment, and emotional, cultural and social development. In these pages, you will also find
information about all the clubs and organizations our university offers. I encourage you to get involved in
the many opportunities at UAPB. This involvement can provide a rich source of new friendships, new
