Female genital schistosomiasis, HIV and infertility among rural Malawian women
This study aims to 1) establish prevalence of genital schistosomiasis, HIV and STI/RTIs in 150
women, and characterize the association between genital schistosomiasis, infertility and HIV in
this cohort; and 2) evaluate the feasibility of a large-scale longitudinal study of genital
schistosomiasis and HIV acquisition.

Biomarker, Sexual Behaviors, and the Role of Body Image
This project is evaluating prostate specific antigen (PSA) as a biomarker of recent unprotected
anal intercourse and collecting detailed sexual behavior data from 500 MSM.
