DEDICATION
In a world filled with disinformation and deception, it is often difficult to
know who to trust. Nowhere is this truer than in the world of ufology. At
some point, however, we find we must place our trust in others if we wish to
continue to learn and move forward. Those whom we choose to trust must be
selected with great care and attention. They must be individuals of high
integrity and proven credibility, as well as possessing a deep knowledge of
the subject matter. In a perfect world, they should be among the best at what
they do.
Though I utilize a vast number of sources during the performance of my
work, there is a short list of people whom I consider to among the very best at
what they do and whose work I consider to be invaluable contributions to the
field of ufology. While I do not automatically assume that everything they
might happen to say is written in stone, when they choose to speak I listen
carefully and try to learn all I can from them. Some of these people I am
proud to call my friends, others I have never spoken with at all. But each of
them has, through their public and private statements and their personal
commitment to honesty and integrity, earned my trust, respect and gratitude.
It is with all those things in mind that I wish to dedicate this manuscript, this
product of a lifetime of research and experience, to the following individuals,
whose contributions to the field of ufology are, I believe, unsurpassed and
whose hard work and generosity have made it possible for all of us to
increase our knowledge.
Whether we realize it or not, we owe each of these people a great debt and we
stand gratefully in their shadows, the beneficiaries of their hard work and the
risks they have taken by coming forward. Some of them have paid for doing
so with their lives.

We live in a world of illusion. Nothing is what it appears to be. All we see are
the surface layers, which form an intricate, interlocking system of falsehood
and deception. Nothing works the way we think it does. Most of the things
we have been taught to believe are true turn out to be lies.
No one is immune from this. If you are reading these words then you, too,
have been a victim of this deception. Many people will not want to believe
that and they surely won’t. I tell you that it is true anyway. The fact that you
are unaware of it does not mean that it has not occurred. Rather, it serves as a
demonstration of the subtlety and efficiency of a methodical, meticulously
planned combination of disinformation and propaganda which has been
specifically designed to prevent us from being able to see the underlying
truths.
These truths hold great power. They confer an enormous advantage to those
who are aware of them. For this reason, they are revealed only to a carefully
selected few. Those who are made aware of them operate covertly, standing
unseen in the shadows and working behind the scenes. From there, they pull
the strings of power which allow them to control the world.
Though I have studied the subject of alien contact for about a half century,
most of you have probably never heard of me. That is alright—it is the way I
wanted it. Flying below the radar has in many ways served me well as I
conducted my investigations into this subject. It has allowed me the ability to
meet and speak with people who would not have been willing to speak with
anyone whose primary concern was selling books rather than finding the
truth. Although my activities have not gone unnoticed by the government, I
have for the most part been left alone, most likely because I kept to

myself rather than making a big noise about the things I have learned along
the way.
That is about to change. I have spent most of a lifetime acquiring the
knowledge and the skills necessary to write a manuscript such as this and
have determined that it is now time to do so. Along the way, I have
interviewed over three thousand abductees and contactees.
I have been abducted repeatedly by both aliens and the United States military.
In addition, I have had at least a half-dozen sightings of what I feel certain
were alien spacecraft which were unrelated to my abduction experiences.
I have invested countless hours in researching the subject of alien contact in
all its forms and made use of every resource which was available to me. I
have spoken with wise men and with fools. I have found truth and learned
that it is almost always surrounded by multiple layers of deception. I have
met with—and, in some cases, befriended—people who work deep within the
world of black ops, a place where access to secret knowledge always carries
great risk and often costs people their lives. I owe these people a great debt.
This manuscript is, in part, my way of thanking them.
It requires time for the brain to fully process and understand things which
represent radical new concepts and the restructuring of our belief systems. It
requires additional time for the brain to create the new synapses which are
necessary to incorporate this information and these cutting-edge ideas into a
picture of reality. This picture ultimately turns out to be very different from
the things we have been so carefully manipulated into accepting as
indisputable truths.
Because the process of integrating this information involves the physical
construction of new synapses within the brain, and because this manuscript is
information-dense, there is no way to avoid or shortcut the amount of time
this will require. I do not recommend that you try to read this entire book in a
day or two. When you begin to feel overloaded with information, stop
reading. Give your subconscious some time to process the information, then
start again.
I had originally hoped to cover all the topics I want to address and include all
the information which I feel it necessary to include in a single volume. It
quickly became apparent, however, that the amount of material was just too
great for that to be done. In the end, it had to be divided into two volumes, of
which this is the first. I have written

them and intend them to be read as companion books, a set. You will find it
to be by far the most effective approach if you read both volumes rather than
just one of them. The second volume, which should be released within
several months after this one is published, is entitled “Alien Contact:
Paradigm Shift” and will be available on amazon.com.
It is my sincere hope that those who read this manuscript will find it to be
interesting and that it will also prove to be useful to them as they go about
their own investigation. I have done a tremendous amount of research before
undertaking this project and, if one chooses to take advantage of it, I can save
them a lot of time by not having to research things I have already checked out
carefully and vetted to the best of my ability.
All that remains now is to extend my thanks to you. I recommend that you
strap yourself in nice and tight…because I am about to take you on a ride that
will make your head spin and your jaw drop, one which will challenge your
notions of reality and forever change the way you view the world.

CHAPTER 1: CONTACT CLASSIFICATION

The late Dr. J. Allen Hynek, who was employed as part of the original Project
Blue Book operation to officially debunk or explain away reported sightings
of UFO’s—and who is perhaps best known for being the person who came up
with the “swamp gas” pseudo- explanation for sightings—eventually
concluded that there was far more credible evidence for alien spacecraft than
it was possible to explain away. Originally a UFO skeptic, he eventually
became convinced that alien contact was in fact taking place and that a large
number of the reported sightings involved what could only be described as
intelligently-guided craft of unknown origin.
Dr. Hynek developed a method of classifying sighting and contact reports
based on the type of contact which was said to be involved. His classification
system, which was later expanded upon, is still in use today.
While most of us are familiar with the phrase “Close Encounters of the Third
Kind” as a result of having seen the movie of the same name, most people
have never had an opportunity to see the entire list of classifications devised
by Dr. Hynek. They would have no way of knowing what is meant by the
phrase “Close Encounter of the Fifth Kind”, for example, nor would they be
aware that it is even possible to have a Close Encounter of the Seventh Kind.
For that reason, I have decided to open this manuscript by describing the
contact levels as they are defined by Dr. Hynek’s system. Its brilliance lies in
its simple, easy to understand format, the fact that it includes all of the
different possible types of encounters between humans and non-human
intelligent beings and its effectiveness as a tool which can be utilized by the
entire UFO community.
Here, then, is the system of classification which can used to describe the
entire range of alien encounters in a way everyone can easily understand
Nocturnal Lights: One or more unidentified lights which are observed in the
night-time sky.
Daylight Disks: One or more unidentified objects which are observed during
daylight hours and which have a disc or oval shape.
Visual-Radar Sightings : Unidentified objects which are observed and are
also picked up by either civilian or military radar units. Though radar
occasionally malfunctions, capturing a sighting on radar adds to its overall
credibility and serves as a second source of information about it.
Close Encounter of the First Kind: Visual sighting of an unidentified flying
object which is less than five hundred feet away and which is seen clearly or
shows considerable visual detail.
Close Encounter of the Second Kind: A close encounter in which a physical
effect is alleged to have occurred. This can be interference with electronic
equipment or automobile engines, physical traces left on the ground from
exhaust or landing pads, physical paralysis of those nearby or sensations of
heat, an animal reacting to it, radioactivity associated with the sighting or
other physical effects.
Close Encounter of the Third Kind: A sighting where a physical entity is
present. This can be a living creature, a robot, an android, a human being or
anything which appears to be piloting a spacecraft or associated with one.
Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind: This is the level of contact associated
with being abducted by either a UFO or its occupants and taken aboard the
craft involuntarily.
Close Encounter of the Fifth Kind: This type of Close Encounter involves
direct communication between a human and an extraterrestrial being. It is
usually thought of as being friendly, proactive, human-initiated contact but it
would logically include contact which is initiated by a non-human entity.
This level of contact is also often used to describe what are said to be
telepathic or mind-to-mind communications with extra-terrestrials which may
not be physically present at the time.
Close Encounter of the Sixth Kind: This refers to a contact event which
results in the death of an animal or a human. Though most have never before
heard of Close Encounters of the Sixth Kind, they have occurred on
numerous occasions and have then been made to immediately and
permanently disappear by agents of the government and/or military. This is
not just something which has occurred within the borders of the United
States, it has taken place all over the world.
Close Encounter of the Seventh Kind: An encounter which results in the
creation of a human/alien hybrid, either through sexual reproduction or the
use of artificial methods. This refers to the conception of a hybrid, not its
physical birth. Since most abduction events involve the harvesting of human
reproductive cells at some point, it is possible that many people have had an
encounter which might qualify as a CE7, but in which the conception of the
hybrid may have occurred at a later time when they were not physically
present.

Over the course of a lifetime of research I have developed a system of
principles and techniques which I’ve found to be invaluable as I navigated
the always-treacherous terrain of this field we have determined to study. I
will not say that we have “chosen” to study it. Though I suppose there are a
few who have done so, it seems to me that most people who decide to
immerse themselves seriously in the study of alien contact came to do so for
reasons which were for the most part beyond their control. They are
originally motivated because they are witnesses or contactees themselves and
want to learn the truth about what happened to them. They are compelled to
find out just who it is that is visiting our world and why they have decided to
come here.
Many people have seen strange craft which clearly were not from this world.
Some have memories of being abducted by extraterrestrial beings, usually in
the middle of the night and from the presumed safety of their own bedrooms.
Others have had some type of positive contact experience with extra-
terrestrials.
An encounter with something which is clearly either an alien spacecraft or an
alien being results in an immediate and permanent change to one’s
worldview. It brings about an epiphany, it causes a paradigm shift the likes of
which they have never experienced. What were once only opinions and best
guesses are replaced with direct personal experience and certain knowledge.
A close encounter with an alien spacecraft or an alien being is an event which
has the potential to change one’s life forever.
In my own case, I had what I would describe as a spectacular and extended
sighting of something which was beyond question an alien spacecraft. It
lasted for 42 minutes and eventually came to involve a pair of USAF F-16
fighters which were scrambled to intercept the craft. Though they did not fire
on it, they clearly considered the intruder to be unfriendly, unwelcome and
dangerous. Their actions left no doubt that they were willing to attempt to
shoot it down if that was determined to be necessary (a full description of this
incident will be found in a later chapter).
