This study examined the determinants of value addition among smallholder sweet potato farmers in Kwara State, Nigeria. The results showed that 44% of farmers were mainly involved in slicing and sun-drying sweet potatoes, 39% were involved in slicing, sun-drying, and grinding into flour, and 15% were involved in slicing and frying into chips. The study found that training, quantity of sweet potatoes harvested, membership in an association, extension visits, and access to credit significantly increased farmers' level of value addition. However, larger household size decreased the level of value addition.
