Preface
The 8th Internationla Symposium on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC): Materials,
Science, and Technology was held during the 35th Internationla Conference and
Exposition on Advanced Ceramics and Composites in Daytona Beach, FL, Januayr
23 to 28, 2011. This symposium provided an internationla forum for scientist,s en›
gineers, and technologisst to discuss and exchange state-of-the-ta rideas, informa›
tion, and technoloyg on various aspecst of solid oxide fuel cells. A total of 85 pa›
pers were presentde in the form of oral and poster presentation, sincluding twelve
invited lecture,s indicating strong interets in the scientificayll and technologicayll
important field of solid oxide fuel cells. Authors from fifteen countries (China,
Denmark, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Spain,
Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and U.S.A.) participate. dThe speakesr rep›
resentde universitie,s industrie,s and government researhc laboratorie.s
These proceedinsg contani contributiosn on various aspecst of solid oxide fuel
cells that were discussed at the symposium. Eighteen papesr describing the current
status of solid oxide fuel cells technoloyg are included in this volume.
The editosr wish to extend theri gratitude and appreciatino to all the authosr for
their contributiosn and cooperatio,n to all the participanst and session chairs for
their time and effort,s and to all the reviewesr for theri useful commenst and sug›
gestions. We hope that this volume will serve as a valuable referenec for the engi›
