Preface
MEDI (the International Conference on Model and Data Engineering) is an annual
researchconference.Itfocusesonadvancesindatamanagementandmodeling,includ-
ingtopicssuchasdatamodels,dataprocessing,databasetheory,databasesystemstech-
nology, and advanced database applications. MEDI was founded by researchers from
Euro-Mediterraneancountriesandhasservedasaspringboardformultipleinternational
projectsandcollaborations.ThepreviouseditionsofMEDIhavebeenheldorganized
inCyprus,Estonia,France,Greece,Italy,Morocco,Portugal,andSpain.
Forits11thedition,MEDI2022washeldinCairo,Egypt,duringNovember21–24,
2022,inhybridmode(inpersonandonline)duetothespecialcircumstancesrelatedto
theCOVID-19pandemic.Atotalof65submissionswerereceived,fromwhich18papers
wereacceptedforfullpresentationand11forashortpresentation.Thisvolumecontains
the11shortpresentationpapers,aswellasfouracceptedpapersfromtheDETECT2022
workshop,heldatMEDI2022.Altogether,the15papersincludedinthisvolumecover
awiderangeoftopicsrelatedtothethemeoftheconference.
The DETECT 2022 workshop on Modeling, Verification and Testing of Depend-
able Critical Systems was selected after an open call for workshop proposals and the
subsequentevaluationoftheseproposalsbytheMEDIworkshopchair,AhmedAwad.
The DETECT workshop had its own chair, Program Committee chairs, and Program
Committee.
We would like to thank everyone that contributed to the success of MEDI and
DETECT2022,includingauthors,organizers,andProgramCommitteemembers.
