Table Of Contenthttp://www.eddielewis.com
Thank You!
Did you know that it’s people like you who make this music available?
It’s true. This musical pdf file comes from a continually growing website which is currently over 250mb in size. Each
month, new music is added and the costs of the site continue to mount. Without donations from supporters like you,
none of this would be possible. Thanks to this generous support, thousands, no, millions of people from all over the
world have access to this music.
Why Donate?
Your donations guarantee that the website will go on to function the way it has been. This not only means that you will
have continual access to the site but also that new music will keep being added to the catalog, giving you plenty of
reasons to return for more. My short term goal is to post 100 items (compositions and books) by midsummer, but I have
long term projections which easily surpass 300 items. That’s a whole lot of web space and I know I can’t pay for that
myself. That’s why I need your help. Without your financial help, I may need to close the whole thing down.
I also have to believe that, if enough people support this site, other sites will follow. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful thing,
to have composers and authors from all over the world who offer their books and music online for a suggested
donation? If the people support it, then it’s a win/win situation for everyone involved.

The Music
The music in these files is top quality engraving. Not only do I use the industry’s leading music engraving software
(Finale), but I spend the time and effort to make the parts exactly right. Many people use computerized musical notation
as a short cut but I don’t. I rarely accept the defaults in each individual part and I labor over them literally for hours to
make sure that the music is easy to read. This is the same engraving quality you would get from any of the major
publishers, if not better!
Why downloads?
I ran my own publishing business for over a decade before I decided to post all of my books and compositions on my
website. Having done it both ways, I can tell you that this way is better for everyone. I want people to use my music and
my books. Doing it the old way, via mail order sales, I had to limit the numbers of books and reduce the quality of the
print in order to keep up with the demand. This way, you will eventually have access to everything I’ve ever written and
it will always be of the highest quality work.
The downloads also allow me to spend my time practicing and writing more music instead of trying to fill book orders.
This means that my best work is yet to come and that the music will continue to mature in the future. Once again I have
to say that this is better for everyone.
But the most important benefit to you is that the recommended donation amount is only a fraction of what I was charging
in my mail order business. For example, my Daily Routines book was selling for $30. The recommended donation for
that book is $5. Can it get any better than that? You get the music now and you get it for far less.
Money Back
All donations are 100% refundable. I never want anyone to think I suckered them into giving me money. If for any
reason you feel like you made a mistake, I will gladly refund exactly the amount you donated.

Snail Mail Donations
Of course, not everyone feels comfortable sending money via Paypal. Some people prefer to send checks through the
regular mail and that’s okay with me. If you would like to make a donation for this file, but don’t want to make an online
payment, please send a check or money order for five dollars to:

Attribution in Programs
It’s extremely important that you include the proper title and the correct spelling of my name in concert programs. It’s not
just an ego thing. It’s more of a money thing. I am a member of BMI and if you perform this music, I should collect
performance royalties – which cost you nothing as a performer - but may be a blessing to me and my family in future.
This is the only hope I have of ever getting anything in return for what I have made available to you for free. So
PLEASE, put this important information in your programs and do what you can to make sure that those programs are
sent to the proper authorities.
Thank you.
The Stack
8/15/4
This new edition of the stack includes five more duets bringing the total up to thirty. When the
project is finished, I expect there to be over sixty duets in all. Maybe even a lot more.
3/9/4
Five new additions to the stack!!!
I’m already getting a lot of comments about the difficulty of the duets. Yes, most of them are
hard. The way I feel about this is that there are more than enough easy duets out on the market
today. I didn’t want to go that route with mine. To me, these duets are genuine compositions and
were never intended to be sight-read easily on their first readings. I wanted to write creative
duets that would offer you more of a musical challenge than most of what’s already out there.
That’s why these duets are ALREADY being performed in solo and ensemble competitions
across the USA. They are real music originally written for two trumpets…..not just some cheesy
transcriptions of preexisting music.
About the Titles
I have a long standing tradition (if you want to call it that) of choosing strange titles for my
compositions. So it’s important that I clarify that the names of the duets DO NOT reflect my
feelings towards the players being honored. All of these titles are VERY typical of my writing and
most of the titles have a lot more to do with the compositions themselves than with the person
who the duet is dedicated to. Please keep that in mind when you see duets with titles like
“Beagle Brains”, “Slipin’ ‘n’ Slidin’” and “Spectral Spider Species”.
About the Spiders
When the entire project is finished, at least ten of the duets will have spider names. That’s
because one of the embedded projects included within “The Stack” is actually called “Spider
Duets”. So far there are four Spider Duets in The Stack; “Theme and Variations”, “March of the
Eight Legs”, “Spectral Spider Species” and “Spider Ground”. When the entire project is
completed, I will group these duets together and it will no longer be called “The Stack”.
Single Donations
I encourage everyone who uses these duets to make a donation to keep the project going.
However, I only ask for one donation per person for this one project. The Stack will be updated
every time five more duets have been written and I want people to keep downloading it to get the
latest additions. But the one donation covers all of the download updates. So please don’t feel
like you need to continue sending donations every time you download the file.
