Abstract A new subspeciesofNee、,(/allssill,1bo1・t1isdescribed from Hainan of
SouthwestChinaunder thenameof/lama,Ianov.It isclearlydistinguished from the
nominotypical racefromnorthernVietnambytheshortenedbody,theroundedsuturalan-
glesofelytra1apices, thetruncateapicalmarginof the8thtergiteandthethinnerapical
partofmedianlobe.
ThenecydalinefaunaofHainanofSouthChinaisstillextremelypoorsinceonly
aspecies commonwithnorthernVietnam, N.st1・nadiHoLzscHUH,hasso far been
known. Inthesummerof2004,apeculiarNevdalisspeciescollectedfromthatisland
werebrought forthtoourhands.Aswasexpectedinviewofthefaunalsimilarity,gen-
eral appearanceof Necydalisspecies inquestion almost agreed with N. shinborii
TAKAKUwAetN1lsATowhichisalsoknown fromnorthernVietnam. Inthispaper,we
willdescribeandnameitashainanasubsp nov because ofseveral differences ofex-
ternalandgenitalicstructurescontrastedwiththenominotypica1raceofnorthernViet-
nam.

Notes. ThepreviouslyknownlocalitiesofN.shinboriiarethreegeographically
isolatedareasinnorthernVietnam.Mt.TamDao,thetypelocality islocatedtothe
northwestofHanoiandneartheeasternsideoftheHongRiver(RedRiver).Theother
twolocalities,Mt.PhanSiPanonthenorthernHoangLienSonRangeandMt.pja
Oac,anisolatedmountainofCaoBangProvince,arelocatednearthenorthernborder
ofVietnam,theformer lyingtothewestoftheHongRiver,andthelatteralongthe
basinoftheKeyClungRiver.Thepresentnewlocality,HainanIsland,isalsoisolated
NewSubspeciesofNecvdalisshlnbo,-lt 147
f「omthethreelocalitiesofnorthernVietnam,located490kmtothesoutheastjnabee_
lineofMt.TamDao,thetypelocalityofN.shinborii.

desc「ibedabovefromthenominotypica1subspeciesfromnorthernvietnamandmay
possiblybeconsideredasanindependentspecies.However,weprefertoregardjtasa
9eO9raphiCa1raceoftheVietnamesespecies,sincewehavebeenunabletoexamjne
adequateseriesofspecimensofNshinboriiwiththeexceptionofthosefromMt Tam
Dao. It Si tobehopedthat thegeographicalvariationofN.shlnboriianditsrelated
Specieswillbeclarifiedbyfurtherfieldsurveysinsuchareasasnorthernvietnamand
GuangxiofSouthChina.
要 約
新里達也・八木正道:シンボリホソコバネカミキリ海南島亜種の記載. _ 中国海南島のホ
ソコバネカミキリ類は,これまで,北ベトナムと共通のトンキンホソコバネカミキリNecydalis
strnadiHoLzscHuHただ1種が知られるだけであったが, 2004年の夏に, これとは別の不明種が
採集された. この海南島の標本を詳細に検討した結果, 北ベトナムにやや広く分布するシンボ
リホソコバネカミキリN.shinbot・iiTAKAKuwAetN1lsAToに基本的な形態的特徴が一致するもの
の, いくつか重要な相違点が見いだされたので, この集団に対して,N.shinbo,・ii/,alnanasubsp
nov.という新名を与えて記載した. シンボリホソコバネカミキリは, 基準産地である北ベトナ
ムのTamDaoを除くと, 比較検討に必要な標本が現状では満足に得られてぃなぃ. 本種の地域
集団および姉妹種とみなされるラオスのNmontlpanusNllsAToetN.0HBAYAsHlも含めて, 分布空
白地帯の今後の調査により, 近い将来にその地域変異の様相が明らかにされることが期待され
る.
