in Missouri
Career education programs are preparing students for the future.
Missouri career education 
is preparing young people 
and adults for the job 
market and/or further education. It 
combines academics and job-specific 
skill training to assist in narrowing the 
skills gap.  
CTE programs are offered in

•  Skilled Technical Sciences
•  Technology and Engineering
•  Of all high school students in Missouri, 65 percent took at least one career 
Missouri’s delivery system consists of education course or program.
•  57 area career centers •  In Missouri, 8,767 high school students received an industry-recognized 
•  444 comprehensive high schools certificate or credential.
•  State Technical College of  •  A recent follow-up of 2017 secondary graduates of career education programs 
Missouri show that 95 percent are employed, continuing education or serving in the 
•  12 community college districts military, and 66.1 percent are in the area related to their career education 
•  Seven four-year institutions program of study.
